The Clearlake Police Department reported discovering the body of an older male adult on Thursday, Feb. 1. The Lake County Sheriff/Coroner”s Office identified the body this week as being that as that of 53-year-0ld Richard Welter of Clearlake.
The CPD reported that at approximately 4:30 p.m. Thursday, officers were dispatched to the area of Country Club Drive and Ridge Street for the report that a body had been found. Construction workers in the area had located the body in a wooded area behind their construction site. Detectives responded to the location and determined that the body had been there for some time.
There were no obvious injuries nor indications an assault had occurred. Foul play is currently not being suspected.
