RENO — Luanne”s Gymnastics of Lakeport participated in the Nevada Challenge held last weekend in Reno, one of 14 teams from across the United States taking part in the competition.

For level five (age 11), Nadine Bradley tied for third in the floor exercise, five on the balance beam, sixth on the uneven bars, eight on the vault and sixth in all-around scoring (32.025). She brought home five medals. In the same level, but for 12-year-olds, Kristen Buell won three medals. She was sixth on the uneven bars, seven in the floor exercise and ninth in all-around scoring (31.375).

For level four (age11), Amanda Guajardo scored 8.925 on the vault to finish 10th, and she also won medals in the balance beam (seventh), floor exercise (10th) and all-around scoring (11th).

For level four (age 9), Ana Sammel scored 8.950 on the vault (11th), placed 12th in the floor exercise, 10th on the balance beam and 12th in all-around scoring. In the same age group, Sierra Fugate scored 9.275 on the vault to place fourth. She also finished 12th on the balance beam and 13th in all-around scoring.

The team”s next competition is The Almond Blossom Invitational on Saturday and Sunday in Chico. Boys compete on Saturday and girls on Sunday. The lone member of Luanne”s boys” team, Chris Oubre, will be making his season debut.
