Avice Mae McMahon, 72, of Kelseyville, passed away at her home Feb. 6, 2007 after a period of failing health. A native of Michigan, she had lived in Lake County the past eight years after residing in Ukiah for over 30 years.

Avice worked many years at the Mendocino State Hospital and then at Mendocino County Mental Health following the closure of the hospital. She retired in 1998. She was known as the “Flower Lady” for her flowers at the farmer”s market and her flower stands she ran in Mendocino and Lake counties.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Archie McMahon of Kelseyville, her children Marsha Morgan, Daniel McMahon, Alan McMahon and Arthur McMahon, all of Lake County; and Dennis McMahon of Mendocino County; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by dear friends Rick and Alice Smith of Kelseyville.

In keeping with her wishes, no services are planned. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Services of Lake County. Empire Mortuary Services, Ukiah, is assisting the family.
