James Lester Cornettt was born in Straud, Okla., Sept. 28, 1931 and passed away this past Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007, at the age of 75.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Mary E. Cornettt; and also leaves behind the mother of his children Sharon Cornettt; children, Linda and husband Gary Jones, Kenneth Cornettt and wife Janice; brothers, Bill and wife Helen Cornettt, John and wife Becky, Jack and wife Jan; one sister, Clara Cornett; two Aunts, Lucille Smoot and Hazel Harrison; and one granddaughter, Allison Cornett.
Jim worked for Safeway Grocer during late 1950 and early 60”s when they were on Main St..
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army, graduate of El Centro High School and an active member of United Christian Parish of Lakeport.
Friends are invited to attend a celebration of Jim”s life at noon on Thursday, Feb. 15 at United Christian Parish, 745 N Brush St., in Lakeport with the Reverend Shannon Kimball-Auth officiating.
