Louie Huber passed away on Monday, Feb. 5, 2007 at St. Helena Hospital. He went peacefully with family members at his side.
Louie was born to Ludwig Huber Sr. and Theresa Huber on Jan. 29, 1928 in Live Oak, Calif. He resided in Clearlake Oaks with his loving wife Carol for 45 years. Louie joined the Navy at the age of 17 and served four years. He was a truck driver for Hidden Valley Sand and Gravel, Cinder Products in Clearlake Oaks and Clearlake Lava in Clearlake Oaks.
Louie was also a volunteer for the Clearlake Oaks Fire Department for many years. He helped build the new fire department in Clearlake Oaks. The fire department was always in the local parade and Louie was always a willing participant.
Louie enjoyed going to the races at the Lakeport Speedway and to Chico to watch the Outlaw races.
If you went to the Country Kitchen in Clearlake Oaks, you could always find Louie there having his coffee and a smoke. Louie always had a good word for everyone.
Survivors include his sons, Robert Huber of Oroville, Gary Huber of Chico, Russell Huber of Oroville, and Michael Huber of Kelseyville; only daughter Mary Lou Thomas of Santa Rosa; and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Huber.
He will be missed by all his family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service, 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17 at the United Methodist Church of Clearlake Oaks.
