Daisy Lucile Schneider, age 88, passed away peacefully at her daughter”s home in Roseville, on Jan. 29, 2007, following a brief illness. She was born in Louisa County, Iowa, May 3, 1918, the daughter of Clarence and Clara Tisor.
Daisy married Merwin Schneider of Wapello, Iowa, in the neighboring town of Cedar Rapids in 1940 and together they enjoyed 64 wonderful years. During World War II, work assignments led the couple to San Francisco, where they raised a son and daughter.
In 1971, they moved to Clearlake and enjoyed 33 years of active retirement. For over 20 years, Daisy volunteered at a local hospice thrift store and made many endearing friends. She also enjoyed gardening, playing the organ and visiting with her two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her brother, Donald Tisor of Burlington, Iowa; daughter, Irita Vultaggio of Roseville; son, Robert Schneider of Portland, Ore.; grandchildren, David Gonzales and Vicki Remmel; and great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Danica and Mathew, all of San Jose, California.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Merwin, who passed away in 2003, her parents, two half sisters and three sisters.
There is a memorial scheduled at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 at the Mistywood Residence Center located at 1275 Pleasant Grove Blvd, Roseville.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Sutter Roseville Hospice, #1 Medical Plaza, Roseville, California, 95661-9962.
