Sandy passed away on Feb. 10, 2007 in Bozeman, Mont., at the home of long time friends, Bob and Kathy Puett. Sandy was born in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada on March 12, 1922 to Laura Agnes Neill and Douglas Edgar Neill.
Sandy served in the military in World War II.
Prior to moving to Lake County, he was employed at several construction companies and was a deputy sheriff in Placer County.
Sandy lived on Bartlett Mountain for the past 15 years and was known for his love of the outdoors, nature and for his compassion for animals. He planted many trees in the Mendocino National Forest and enjoyed motorcycling and visiting with friends.
Sandy will be remembered for his free spirit, independence, and good will toward others. He will be greatly missed by his many friends, including. Jerry Puett Sr. and Jr.; Karen Foster and her sons, Jacob and Joshua; Darren Puett; Lloyd, Bonnie, Ian and Lila Severs; Kevin Puett; Sandi Dalke; Derrick Simmons; Damon Arnold; and Bob and Kathy Puett.
Cremation has taken place and at Sandy”s request, his remains will be scattered near his home site on Bartlett along with the remains of his cat “Willie” of 22 years.
A private celebration of Sandy”s life will take place on Sunday. March 11, 2007on Bartlett at the home of Bob and Kathy Puett.
