William Joseph Dehner, Sr., age 65, passed away Feb. 2, 2007 in Lakeport. He had been a Lake County Resident for nine years, and was formerly of Santa Rosa. William was born Dec. 2, 1941 in Quincy, Ill.
He was a master tree trimmer, one of the best in California, and in his 38 year career had even climbed Redwood trees.
He was an avid salmon fisherman, having fished his whole life. He enjoyed fishing the Russian River on his boat MEAT HOG, and was skilled at smoking his catches.
William was a hard worker, and was a great teacher, provider, and role-model to his son Billy Jr., whom he loved very much. He was a small guy, with a big heart, and will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his loving son, William Joseph Dehner, Jr. of Lakeport; brother, Jim Dehner of Santa Rosa; and sister, Linda Chaney.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23 at Jones Mortuary in Lakeport.
