MIDDLETOWN — A popular new establishment, Porter Street Barbeque, in Middletown was broken into on Monday. And it wasn”t the first time, or even the second.

According to owner Tim Chastain, this is the third time in six weeks that his restaurant has been broken into. The first time they stole the cash register with a few hundred dollars in it. This last time no money was kept in the register so the suspects did not manage to get any money.

“They broke a few windows and ransacked the place,” said Chastain. “Each time I have progressively gotten more upset.”

“We have filed two police reports with the Lake County Sheriff. They were very helpful and spent a few hours investigating the latest break-in,” said Chastain. “We did not file a report the second time our place was broken into but we did the third time it was.” Now Chastain will be installing a security system with cameras.

“The theft and vandalism of our small family business is disturbing and disruptive to our customers and our children,” said co-owner Renee Chastain. “We are trying to provide a living for our family and a service to the community.”

According to the Lake County Sheriff”s Office, there are no suspects in the burglaries at this time.
