I am a daughter, sister, auntie, mother, and grandmother. I have 18 grandchildren. I am retired and live in a senior housing complex. Recently a young man crawled through the bathroom window of another grandma, also living alone, and while she lay sleeping, he stole her last $8. Then, he took a knife and cut through my other neighbor”s patio covering of plastic and tried to come in when lights were on and she was visible, watching tv.

To this young man and his guardians I say, you have better things to do with your time rather than to frighten grandmas. How would you feel if a man frightened your mother, sister, aunt, or grandma? We love our families and we live on social security alone. We cannot afford robbery or to be frightened. Young man and guardian, stop to realize how important it is to respect yourself as God”s creation, as well as all others, for we are all God”s children. Bless those young people who care and do well with their time. I pray a prayer of thanks for them, and I pray for those who don”t know how important they are in their community and in God”s eyes. Turn your life to the good, to the positive. God is watching and so are we.
