Loretta Tarpley passed away Feb. 20, 2007 in Lakeport. She was born June 7, 1923 in Oakland. She lived in Vallejo and Napa before moving to Clearlake three years ago.

Loretta worked on Mare Island during World War II as a Rosie the Riveter. She retired after many years working for Rough Rider Factory in Napa.

Loretta loved cooking, baking, gardening and bowling. Her family was her greatest joy. She loved her family dearly and was loved by them dearly. She also loved her friends at Orchard Park in Clearlake.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Bob McNeill of Lakeport; granddaughters, Sharon White and Judy Jackson, both of Lakeport; grandson, George and wife, Alyson McNeill of Oakdale; great-grandchildren, Nick and Tony Bussard, K.C. White, Jennifer Bonfigli, Jaime and Julie Jackson, and Derek, Michael and Scott McNeill; great-great-grandchildren, Brandon, Joey and Bailey Bonfigli; sister, D”Loris Giavia of Menlo Park; and brother, Floyd Whiteside of Vallejo.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Charles Tarpley; and parents Floyd and Mabel Whiteside.

Arrangements by Neptune Society. No services per her request.
