* Clearlake Elks Lodge No. 2299 will hold its Friday night dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. March 2 at Old Highway 53 and Crawford Avenue. Chef Robert will be serving roast pork loin or chicken stew and dumplings for $9 per person. Dessert will be triple chocolate cake for $1 more. All Elks and their guests are welcome. * Spring Valley Property Owners Association will hold its annual rummage and bake sale Friday, March 2, through Sunday, March 4, at the community center in Spring Valley, 3000 Wolf Creek Road. The event will be held rain or shine. Friday and Saturday hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday. The kitchen will be selling lunch items such as hot dogs, chili, nachos and sodas.

* Clearlake Elks Lodge No. 2299 will hold its monthly youth activity breakfast, 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, March 4 at Old Highway 53 and Crawford Avenue. The menu will be French toast, eggs any style, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, sausage or bacon, toast, hash browns, juice and coffee for only $6 per person and $3 for children 12 and younger. This breakfast is open to the public and all proceeds go to help local youth.

Susan Maxwell Skinner, world renowned speaker, author and one of Princess Diana”s press secretaries for eight years, will present “Remembering Diana — How One Woman Can Make a Difference.” The event will also include a silent auction, raffle and awards ceremony, which celebrates women who make a difference. * Park Study Club will hold its annual Wine Tasting and Art Show from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at the El Grande Inn in Clearlake. Tickets, priced at $20 apiece, will be available at the door or from any Park Study Club member. Lake County”s own Ployez and Langtry wineries will be pouring some of their wines. Well-known local artists will be on hand to exhibit their works. Music will be provided by DJ Gunzie of Party Express for your enjoyment. * Jim Brown III, administrator for the Elem Indian Colony, is guest speaker at the Saturday, March 10, meeting of the Lake County Democratic Club. The meeting starts at noon Saturday, March 10, at the Lucerne Alpine Senior Center. Brown will be discussing the ongoing EPA cleanup efforts at the Sulphur Bank Mercury Mine and the impacts of the project on the tribe.
