* Spring Valley Property Owners Association will hold its annual rummage and bake sale Friday, March 2, through Sunday, March 4, at the community center in Spring Valley, 3000 Wolf Creek Road. The event will be held rain or shine. Friday and Saturday hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday. The kitchen will be selling lunch items such as hot dogs, chili, nachos and sodas.

* Clearlake Elks Lodge No. 2299 will hold its monthly youth activity breakfast, 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, March 4 at Old Highway 53 and Crawford Avenue. The menu will be French toast, eggs any style, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, sausage or bacon, toast, hash browns, juice and coffee for only $6 per person and $3 for children 12 and younger. * Jim Brown III, administrator for the Elem Indian Colony, is guest speaker at the Saturday, March 10, meeting of the Lake County Democratic Club. The meeting starts at noon Saturday, March 10, at the Lucerne Alpine Senior Center. Brown will be discussing the ongoing EPA cleanup efforts at the Sulphur Bank Mercury Mine and the impacts of the project on the tribe.
