Lillian Mae Plante was born Aug. 12, 1927 in Canada to the late Edward James Hadaway and the former Lucy Meldrum Doyle.

Mae, a great niece of the late Frank P. Doyle, moved to Sonoma County at a very young age to be close to her mother”s extended family, At the age of 14, she went to live with W.C. and Lois Trowbridge, who accepted her as one of their family.

Mae worked at the Trowbridges” Mirabel Park Resort during World War II.

Her future husband Fred was in the Army Air Force, stationed at the base which later became the Sonoma County Airport. They met at a dance and married in 1945.

Mae and Fred later owned two successful local businesses, MaeFred”s TV Repair and Fred Plante Electronics. In 1975 they built their retirement home at Clear Lake Riviera and moved from Santa Rosa.

During her retirement years Mae was an avid golfer, painter and gardener.

Mae was cared for in her home the past three years by her devoted caregivers, Connie Krohn and Linda Eddy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred of 58 years in 2003 and by her loving and devoted son, Ken Plante in 1984.

Mae is survived by many long-time friends who will not forget her friendship, her love, her smile and the warm welcome she always extended when we visited.”

Friends are invited to a funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2007 at Santa Rosa Memorial Park Chapel, 1900 Franklin Ave.

Donations may be made in her memory to Hospice Services of Lake County or to your favorite charity.
