LAKEPORT — Store and gas station clerks all over the county were cranking out lottery tickets at a frenzied pace on Tuesday as the multistate Mega Millions game is predicted to hit $370 million.
“We”ve sold over 500 Mega Millions tickets just today,” said USA gas station clerk Joann Pavlish, of Nice. “I don”t ever play and I”m going to buy some.”
According to the Mega Millions Web site, because of the amount of the prize and the publicity, the drawing has been moved to New York”s Time Square. The drawing is usually done in Atlanta, Georgia.
“If I win I plan to buy a home for myself, buy my mother her dream home and help my family,” said Alma Alvarez, of Kelseyville. “My first priority is my family in need.”
“I would leave as soon as I could and travel the world,” said Irma Rodriguez of Lakeport.
“I would buy me a house,” said Nicole Figuera of Lakeport.
