LOWER LAKE — A Clearlake woman suffered fatal injuries when her car veered off of State Route 29 near Diener Drive and struck a tree early Monday morning.
California Highway Patrol investigators identified the driver as Daphne Lynn Kelley, 48 of Clearlake. According to a preliminary CHP report, Kelley apparently lost control of her vehicle, a 1999 Oldsmobile, “for unknown reasons” as she was headed north on State Route 29 just north of Diener Drive between Lower Lake and the Rivieras area in Kelseyville.
The car went off the north roadway edge and hit a tree, according to the report. Kelley was flown by R.E.A.C.H. air ambulance to UC Davis Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries.
