John A. Veguilla-Berdicia Sr. (Tato)
Departed on March 16, 2007, “And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance” (Gibran).
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Victoria Veguilla; children, Ana Veguilla Miner and John A. Veguilla Jr.; five grandchildren and one great-grand daughter.
Born April 10, 1923 in Cayey, Puerto Rico, the eldest of eight children. John enjoyed the countryside and the creatures that inhabited our world.
John”s enthusiasm for his Spanish heritage carried throughout his life and was enjoyed by his family with trips to Spain and Puerto Rico.
He was a veteran of World War II in the U.S. Army 65th infantry regiment, D Company from Puerto Rico. After the war, his enthusiasm of mathematics and science in various colleges, earned him respect from his peers and teachers.
John worked for PG&E as Superintendent of North Coast Operations, and he retired after 35 years of service and dedication.
His determination and passion to achieve and enjoy life touched many people and served as a role model to his family and friends.
John”s passion included dance, music, playing chess, dominoes and the marvels of the world.
Donations preferred to Hospice of Lake County, Alzheimer”s Association, or the American Cancer Society.
