President Bush focuses on foreign terrorists. He obviously has no control over our American terrorists, the CEOs of oil and pharmaceutical corporations. Early this year, oil prices dropped $13 a barrel. Following that major drop, pump prices dropped a mere three cents. More recently, barrel prices increased five dollars from the year”s low, and pump prices have surged 60-cents a gallon. And this is low demand winter.
Remember last year, when during a high demand period, pump prices dropped from August to November to influence voters to vote Republican? That scam obviously failed miserably. That probably explains why pump prices are going through the roof now. They are making up for that phony drop in 2006. In a few months, we will read about oil companies huge profit increase. Does this not prove who controls America?
Pharmaceutical corporations spend billions on television advertising for prescription drugs. Every 15 minutes, 24-hours a day on every television in the country. We all have to pay for that advertising at the drug store counters. There is no way I would insult any doctor by asking him or her to write me a prescription for some pill I saw on TV. The doctors should prescribe drugs based solely on their diagnosis.
And because drug costs are outrageous, insurance companies have to charge outrageous rates to cover those costs. The national expert on American health care costs is David Walker. He recently told Congress that our health care costs are 50-percent higher than any other nation on the planet.
Hillary Clinton predicted this 12 years ago, but she was ignored. Millions of our retired seniors on a fixed income will suffer and die prematurely because of the cost of life”s essentials, namely drugs, gasoline, and heating fuels, and I see no reversal in sight.
