Thank you for the article regarding jury service in Lake County. I have had four summons in the past year and had to clear my week and arrange for child care each time. This is not what bothers me about jury duty.

What bothers me about jury duty is the lack of metal detectors at the entrances to the courthouses in Lake County. Jurors should be kept safe. Attorneys, clerks, judges, witnesses, defendants and every other person who has to work in or visit these buildings should be kept safe. As an attorney, I have been to many courts all over the Bay Area. Other courts have metal detectors and security at the entrance. Why can”t Lake County find the money and the time to implement this simple safety measure?
