After being a part-time resident for 41 years, my husband and I relocated to beautiful Lake County. We built our dream home four years ago in Bella Laguna, a lovely area adjacent to Redbud Park/Thompson Harbor in the City of Clearlake.
The peace and tranquility that we and our neighbors have enjoyed over the years has been shattered by a thoughtless boater who has a hot boat (or so he thinks) running what sounds like straight exhaust pipes up and down the lakeshore with almost deafening sound.
The on going concern is the fact that we can basically set our clocks by his peace disturbing daily arrival at the end of the day. We have called the sheriffs patrol on numerous occasions and are told “Oh yes, we would love to catch this guy but by the time we get there he is gone.”
Initially we accepted that explanation regarding sighting etc, but in recent days we have personally observed the boat, trailer and vehicle he drives. All of that information has been phoned into the Sheriff Patrol and yet the nuisance continues.
Additionally if it weren”t enough that he races up and down at the end of the day this same boat and person can be heard running for hours as late as ten and 11 at night. We are avid boating people as are most of our neighbors, however we observe the law and respect others when it comes to disturbing the peace.
My question is what is it going to take an accident before the Sheriff”s Patrol takes some sort of action to quell this ugly and most disturbing noise?
