I would like to address the people of Clearlake and all of Lake County. I am a 28-year resident of Clearlake and just recently bought a home to stay in Clearlake. Aside from the recent scandals of the City Council and misuse of city funds and all the other problems that plague our community, one thing keeps me here … our lake.
I own a boat as do many of my friends. I live three blocks from the lake and love to hear when people are on the water. The fact is that someone in a private community of five houses in the Bella Laguna area wants to keep noise on the lake down. If you dont like boats or the sound of them, why buy so close to the water?
Instead of running boats off the lake because theyre loud, we need to think about getting more boats on the water and creating more events that will bring money and exposure to this lake and to our side of the lake.
My point is that this community is on a lake. Lakes have boats, loud ones, quiet ones, big ones, small ones. Im sure the people of Bella Laguna would love to have no boats on the lake, but this isnt a private lake that you can operate like your private beach. The city isnt named Bella Laguna, it is called Clearlake. I do not believe that money or position should make any rule. The majority of a community should make the decisions of this city.
