NICE — As EPSN Bassmasters rolls into town, events like the Anglers Alley at the Robinson Rancheria today will provide locals a chance to visit with the sport”s elite fishermen. More than 50 boats will be lined up this afternoon at the casino”s front entrance where kids and retirees alike can chat and take pictures with their favorite stars.

Rob Keller, hotel manager at the Robinson Rancheria, said “This is one of the few opportunities for the general public to engage the fisherman, either to chat or sign autographs. They can see the boats up close, and have a real chance to be close to the event.”

Keller noted that a similar Angler”s Alley event in Stockton drew a crowd of 5,000.

“At this event at the Rancheria, I would expect we would see several hundred over here, so it will be a big deal. Although it is mostly kids, I can say these events attract a broad range from the 5-year-olds to the retired enthusiasts,” he said.

According to Keller, the boats will be placed directly at the main front entrance. Casino security will direct traffic and parking, and in case of inclement weather today, Keller said the autograph session will be moved into the casino”s Bingo Room.

The Angler”s Alley at the Rancheria will start at approximately 3:20 p.m. and is scheduled for approximately two hours. Editor”s Note: See related story by Terry Knight, Sports, A7.
