COBB MOUNTAIN — A man went missing from his Cobb home two weeks ago. Efforts to find him have thus far borne no fruit, according to his wife.
Cobb resident Robert Walter Lucas, 43, has been missing since he walked out the back door of his home on the morning of March 15, shortly after returning home from a previous overnight disappearance, according to his wife.
He was reported missing to the Lake County Sheriff”s Office March 18.
Robert is described as being five feet, eight inches tall, weighing 190 pounds, with short dark brown hair and a “salt and pepper” mustache and goatee. He wears wire frame glasses and has a mole on his right temple. He was last seen by a friend in the couple”s home while his wife was at work.
While the home”s back door faces Boggs Forest, Robert could have gone in any direction, said his wife.
Robert was last seen wearing a brownish T-shirt, blue denim jeans and light weight hiking shoes. He is described by his wife as an avid outdoorsman and having survival skills, but did not take any backpacking gear with him.
Robert, who according to his wife had been a sober alcoholic in recovery, had recently relapsed and had been depressed. She said a recent relapse had catapulted him into deeper depression before his disappearance. In the midst of a friend”s attempts to help Robert get help, Robert walked out the back door. He left with no money or credit cards, and attempts to locate him by contacting the couple”s acquaintances have been unsuccessful.
