GEYSERVILLE — Gearing up for its big match with the Kelseyville Knights on Friday in Kelseyville, the Middletown High School tennis team knocked off the Geyserville Bronchos 4-1 on Monday in Geyserville.
All four of Middle-town”s victories were in straight sets and its only loss was in straight sets as Geyserville”s Omar Sanchez beat the Mustangs” Aaron Turner 6-3, 6-4 in second singles.
Will Phelps beat Ryan Fairlee 6-0, 6-1 in first singles and Tyler Madsen blanked David Hadley 6-0, 6-0 in third singles.
In first-doubles action, Andrew Rotter and Chris Whiting were 6-2, 6-3 winners over Jill Bensin and Andrew Matson, and Middletown”s second-double teams of Zoe Everett and Ryan Bower beat Morgan Chiantella and Luke Gevas 6-1, 6-0.
In exhibition doubles, Chase Mannisto and Ben MacDonald of Middletown defeated Petie Bensin and Alice Read in a single pro set, 8-2.
