While I truly believe George W. Bush is the worst president we as a nation has ever elected and who as our elected leader along with his unelected advisors, has taken us into an unjust war, I believe we the citizens of this nation must share a part of the responsibility now in continuing this war.
We sit on our hands while the folks in Washington spend more precious lives of our young soldiers, thinking we can do nothing to bring our men home from this civil war. The polls say that 70 plus percent of this nation wants our boys brought home and there is something we can d0 ? if those numbers are correct ? to act as a nation, to speed up their return.
On a set Friday, the citizens of this country who want our men brought out of harms way, should call in sick from their respective workplaces.
This would allow millions of US citizens who cannot afford to go to a single place to show our contempt for this on-going war ? to be counted for ? in a nationwide peace rally. Since corporate America seems to use our elected officials as their board members, such an action should come swiftly to bring our men home.
I think it would take a single Friday to bring about the desired actions, but, if not, two weeks later, another Friday would cement the deal. The greatness of the Web now is, it has given us, the citizens of this great country, our voice back, so let”s use our voices to get this war over with.
