The April 15 pre-race playday suggests that a big field of cars is expected for Saturday”s event.
“We had 21 bombers practicing on playday,” Lakeport Speedway manager Nadine Strauss said. “It was the biggest turnout in a single class that we”ve seen in a long time.”
Veteran driver and track manager Bob Strauss will be debuting his new two-seater modified Saturday night. Although modifieds cannot have passengers during regular competition, Strauss plans to offer rides to interested parties throughout the season.
Strauss joins other modified drivers in the “King of the Hill Challenge Series” at both race tracks.
Speedway gates open Saturday at 5 p.m. For more information, call the speedway office at 274-2844.
