Beth (Mary Elizabeth) Cornett
Beth (Mary Elizabeth) Cornett passed peacefully April 22, 2007 at her home in Lucerne, at the age of 64, and was born June 9, 1942 in Pine Bluff, Ark.
When she was in the 7th grade, she moved with her family to Nederland, Texas, where she graduated high school after being in drama and playing the clarinet in the school band. She attended Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in speech and won awards for acting.
She later moved to Houston, Texas; Virginia Beach, Virginia; Chicago, Illinois; and eventually San Francisco, where she met and married James Cornett. The two were married on Dec. 20, 1975.
She earned her MBA from St. Mary”s College, graduating with honors in 1994. She worked as the business administrator for De La Salle High School in Concord for 19 years.
She retired to Lucerne and was a member of the United Christian Parish in Lakeport.
She was preceded in death by her precious Jim on Feb. 11, 2007 and on April 22, 2007 she left to be with God and her adored Jim leaving behind her daughter, Linda (Gary) Jones; sons, David Cornett and Kenneth (Janice) Cornett ; granddaughter, Allison Cornett; brothers, James (Phyllis) Tucker, Aubrey (Marjorie) Tucker and Michael (Susan) Tucker; many nieces and nephews; scores of loving and wonderful friends, and her beloved cat Priscilla.
Beth loved music, traveling, her family and God and His creation.
A memorial service was held at the United Christian Parish on Friday, April 27, 2007.
