I am still trying to find out what is either the problem with people or what is the big hurry when they are driving down 11th Street in Lakeport.
Every morning, my four children have to cross 11th Street to catch the school bus. My kids ? most of the time ? stand there off the curb waiting to cross the street while car after car goes zooming by them. I think that is is sad that my kids and all the other kids have to wait for a break in the traffic and then do a mad dash to get across the street.
Have people forgotten what the law is? Are they in that big of a hurry to get to work? Or are they afraid the there favorite place for there morning coffee will be sold out by the time that they get there? I really don”t know what the answer is all that I do know is that someone is most likely going to be hit if people don”t start paying attention when someone is standing in a cross walk.
The law is very simple “Once a person steps off the curb all lanes of traffic is to stop until that person steps back on the curb on the other side of the street.” Is that just too hard for people to understand?
