Bravo Ms. Huit (Record-Bee, May 1) for your letter requesting an “on call” veterinarian for weekends. My animals invariably get sick or injured on a Saturday or Sunday, when vets are gone.
The same holds true for Animal Control Centers. Dogs and cats have a far higher rate of getting lost or hurt on weekends, when family routine is disrupted, and the sheriff”s office is too busy with people problems to also handle those of animals.
