There is a city in Utah that is an excellent tourist draw.
Why? A couple of reasons. It is CLEAN. Beer bottles, camping garbage tossed by campers on the way out of town, fast food litter thrown from vehicles are absent. It has 350 miles of bicycling and hiking trails. The tourists are generally low impact and use local facilities.
This is Park City, Utah. The Board of Supervisors there had the foresight and courage to require all developers to include bicycling and hiking trails in all developments.
The result is positive tourism, a beautiful city that is the norm for the residents, preservation of the natural surroundings, and healthy recreation options for residents that are easily accessible. Smart people.
