LAKEPORT — The Nostalgia Race Cars return to the Lakeport Speedway tonight as part of the annual Founder”s Cup Race.
Andy Scopazzo of Lakeport will make his first appearance in his super modified. A 1969 Torino GTR known as Pikes Peak Special also will make its oval racing debut. Don Johnson of Nice will drive the car, which features wings all over it. Johnson won last year”s Nostalgia Race Car championship.
Also on hand will be 2005 champion Danny Feifer and 2004 champion Bob Nielson, with Denise Smith driving the Frisco Kid Buick stock car. Many other cars are expected as well.
Race fans should show up early as the Nostalgia Race Car trophy dash is the first event on the night”s racing program. Gates open at the speedway at 5 p.m.
