Melvin Passed away peacefully in Dear Park, California with family at his side after his battle with heart disease. He ascends to heaven to join his wife Constance Azevedo.

Melvin was born in San Jose and spent more than 30 years as a Clearlake resident, much of that time working as a cabinetmaker. He was active in the community as a member of the Clearlake Elk”s Lodge and the Queen of Peace Catholic Parish.

Melvin is survived by brothers Stan Azevedo and his wife Mary, Harold Azevedo and his wife Betty Jean; children Corinne and David Lewis, Melanie Layne and Steve Watters, and Tom Azevedo; grandchildren K.C. Lewis and Chad Hetherwick, Liberty and Kevin Perry; great-grandchildren Emily Boyd, Dakota and Jacob Perry and many dear friends.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 24 at Queen of Peace Catholic Parish in Clearlake with grave-side services to follow at Lower Lake Cemetery.

Remembrances may be made to the American Heart Association memorial and Tribute Processing Center, 1710 Gilbreth Rd., Burlingame, CA 94010.
