As a former and prominent member of the CLAWS Board of Directors, it saddens me to read that certain individuals have chosen to air their personnel and personal issues to the media and to attempt to demand the resignation of certain Board members.
What would happen if every disgruntled employee got to air their grievances to the local newspaper and call for the termination of the boss? And what would happen if said directors do resign? This situation could easily lead to the demise of a much needed organization in Lake County.
Imagine how many more neglected, mistreated, abused or euthanized animals there would be if CLAWS goes out of business.
I was a Board member with Marilyn Ferrante and worked closely with her at the Lakeport Thrift Shop. She is dedicated to the cause of animal welfare and has worked tirelessly to keep CLAWS viable and active in our community, as have all current and most past Board members.
Over the years CLAWS has provided hundreds of thousands of dollars for spay/neuter assistance. It would be unfortunate indeed to allow a few unhappy people to bring down one of the most needed organizations in Lake County.
