Leonard K. McCovey (Hodeges), beloved father, grandfather and husband has passed away peacefully in his home on May 18, 2007, in Lakeport; where he and his loving wife (Terri L McCovey) had resided for many happy years together. He was 93 years old and of Yurok-Karok descent. He was very proud of his Native American heritage, as he was proud of his family.

He was the eldest of 15 brothers and sisters. He was a loving and caring father of two sons, a wonderful grandfather to 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

He lived a long and happy life, full of adventures and experiences-living, loving and laughing. He was thankful for each day that the good Lord had given him on this earth (Nov. 22, 1913 May 18, 2007).

He was loved by many and liked by all who had the privilege of knowing him. We will all love, miss and remember him today and always. But he wouldn”t want us to be sad. He would want us to be happy for him, because he is now with grandma in heaven.

As per his wishes there will be cremation with private inurnment. All arrangements by Jones Mortuary, Lakeport. To sign the online quest book, please visit www.jonesmortuary.com.
