Although this is not an all-inclusive list, I would like to highlight some positive experiences I have witnessed over the past school year.

Mr Bordisso, fourth grade teacher at Lower Lake Elementary, is an energetic, vivid teacher and a person of great integrity; these are qualities which he shares with his students daily. He deeply cares for his students and has been known to call them his children while speaking to their parents.

I was volunteering in his class when they were planning a trip and to accommodate transportation some juggling had to be done. When it was suggested that perhaps not all the students would attend, he sighed. His response was that he loved them all equally, for each one”s special qualities, and wouldn”t want to see any of them miss this. This statement is indicative of the way he treats “his children” every day. Thank you to him for choosing to spend your energy and enthusiasm in our school district.

Kudos to our educators

Mr. Sherman and the office staff at Burns Valley Elementary are a new breed of educators, making every child feels welcomed and comforted. One morning I was dropping off my child at school and Mr. Sherman happened by and noticed him resisting exiting the car. He stopped and asked Nik if he was coming in the office to see Mr. Pickle-head. He uses a creative, flexible and personal approach with him and with all the students at BVS which allows each child to be emotionally available to experience their education in a personalized and meaningful way. Thank you to them for choosing to use creativity and attention to detail in our school district.

Mrs. Mock at Pomo Elementary creates a stimulating, creative learning environment. She works diligently to challenge each child at his or her own level and to instill values and study habits that will last a lifetime. Thank you for choosing to use your skills and abilities in our school district.

Thanks again to all the staff, administrators and parents of Konocti Unified School District. You can be proud of your accomplishments and those of your students. The “Pygmalion” attitude that each of you displays with our students is to be commended.
