Charles “Butch” Pivniska, beloved father, grandfather and husband passed away peacefully but unexpectedly at his home on June 1, 2007 in Upper Lake, where he spent many happy years with the family he adored.

He was 59 years old and a life-long resident of Lake County. He was born in Lakeport on Aug. 30, 1947, raised in Lucerne and graduated from Upper Lake High School and American River College. He was a combat veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a Sergeant with the 82nd Airborne in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969. For the past 33 years he owned and operated Pivniska Trucking in Upper Lake.

He loved to visit, and had many interests, and more friends than can be counted but his greatest joy, his one true love was his family.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Marilyn; daughter, Annie and her husband Bryan Petrie; daughter, Sandy and her husband Travis O”Ferrall; son, Chris and his fianc?e, Cassie; daughter, Allison; and his five beloved grandchildren, Zoey, Payton, Brody, Camrin and Jackson.

He also leaves behind his sister, Mary Wiebe; nephew, Mike Wiebe; mother-in-law, Millie Emenegger; and friends by the score.

All of us will miss his infectious smile, his hearty laugh and the warmth of his hugs.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, June 10 at the Upper Lake Cemetery, 780 Clover Valley Rd. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 8 at Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary, 1625 High St., Lakeport.

Friends and family are invited to a potluck gathering at the Pivniska home following the services.
