LAKEPORT — A full-blown professional monster truck show will be the featured attraction Friday and Saturday nights at the Lakeport. In addition, a local mud bog drag racing event will provide local daredevils the opportunity to run their street cars and trucks through the mud pits.
Heading the list of monster trucks will be Sudden Impact, T-Maxx, Pit Bull, Dust Devil, Nasty Boy, Unnamed and Untamed. These trucks appeared at the Redwood Empire Spring Fest last weekend at the Ukiah Speedway.
The monster trucks will be battling it out in Chicago-style racing, freestyle competition and wheelie contests. And as a special bonus, Sudden Impact and T-Maxx will compete in an all new monster tug-o-war.
The local mud bog event will be an elimination contest, featuring two lanes for drivers to run through the mud. Entry forms for the mud bog competition can be picked up at the Lakeport Speedway office in Lucerne.
Prior to the mud bog finals, there will be a “belly-flop” contest for the men, and a ladies “dash for cash” through the mud.
Gates open both Friday and Saturday at 5 p.m., including monster truck rides from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Opening ceremonies begin after the monster truck rides.
