Sidney “Beth” Smith, born March 6,1938, in Booneville, Ark., passed away peacefully Saturday, May 26, 2007, at the home of her daughter, Kelly Beth Bach.
A military wife for 20 years, she was a daughter of the late Alfred Sidney Jones and Joan Ethel (Taylor) Jones. During her lifetime, she was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She and her husband retired to Lakeport in 1991.
Beth is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Vernon D. Smith; daughters, Sharon L. Johnson (Loren) and Kelly Beth Bach (Brendan) both of Lakeport; sons, Sidney Dale Smith of Arbuckle and Vernon Grant Smith (Joy) of Vacaville and James Robert Smith (Adriana) of San Jose; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four siblings, Jimmy, Joan Frances, Lana and Van; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Beth was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Holly Kaylyn Smith; daughter-in-law, Julie Smith; and great-grandson Jayden Michael Wood
Sidney Beth”s great love and strength for her family will be missed. Our family feels so blessed that the heavens have someone as beautiful as her.
Services were held with family and friends on May 29, 2007.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
