Coyote Film Festival, Lake County”s own independent film festival, will once again show documentaries, shorts and animations on a wide screen “under the stars” at Langtry Estate and Vineyards” lawn and picnic area. Each month, from June through September, Coyote Film Festival will present a new program of award winning independent films chosen from festivals around the world.
The first program will kick off on the weekend of Friday, June 22, and Saturday, June 23. Tickets are $12. Doors open at 7 p.m. The Langtry tasting room will be open for your pleasure. Films begin at dusk. Each program lasts one and a half to two hours. June and July”s programs will begin around 9 p.m.
“The Langtry Estate & Vineyards is a wonderful venue for Coyote,” said Karen Turcotte, executive director of EcoArts of Lake County. “Their grounds are gorgeous. Seating is provided, though people should feel free to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets. Come early; picnic suppers under the wisteria arbor overlooking Guenoc Valley are popular. And even in the hottest part of the year, dusk in the Guenoc Valley is always pleasant. Langtry opens its tasting room and facilities at 7 p.m., so our patrons can take advantage of their fabulous wines.
“The Coyote Film Festival is a cultural event in support of our non-profit, EcoArts of Lake County,” explained Turcotte. “Creating an independent film festival in Lake County is very much in keeping with our mission. We provide a visual art experience for Lake County residents and visitors and we highlight local, national and international independent filmmakers. Our films for this year are incredible.”
