Larry passed away at the age of 58, June 17, 2007 after a brief six week courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Larry was born Sept. 6, 1948 to Duane and Catherine Foord in Willits. Larry lived most of his life in Ukiah.
Larry graduated from Ukiah High School in 1966 and attended the College of Marin for a brief time before enlisting in the U.S. Navy serving our country in the states and in Vietnam from 1967 through 1971.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Janet (McConnell) Foord and their children Cambria Milani, Angela Foord (John Laberdie), Alisha Marin (Oly Marin) and David Foord. And his most idealized and deeply loved grandchildren, Brittnie, Desiree, Janelle and Lacey Milani, Kendall and Trez Foord, Ariel and Matthew Laberdie, and Kyla and Alex Marin. Larry is also survived by his father, Duane Foord of Redwood Valley; and his brothers, Steve Foord of Sagle, Idaho, Russell Foord of Colusa, and Sam Foord (JoAnn Foord) of Ukiah.
Larry was predeceased by his mother, Catherine Foord.
Larry worked for Reliable Mill Supply, Coors Distributors and was a very devoted sales representative for Glaser Brothers/Core-Mark International for 29 years, where he was the No. 1 salesman in Northern California and Nevada for many years.
Larry enjoyed competitive sports, among them trap shooting, softball, poker, bocci ball, and his all time love& golf. Larry loved the family cruises to Mexico and the many “road trips” through California, Oregon and Nevada.
The family would like to thank all our loving family and friends for their support during this difficult time. Larry enjoyed all the phone calls and visits that so many of you shared with him. Larry was our rock, accepting his illness head on, never faltering or feeling sorry for himself; he made us all strong. We couldn”t have been more proud of him.
A funeral service conducted by Sister Jane Kelly will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23 at Eversole Mortuary. Viewing will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, June 22 and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 23.
