Clearlake resident Candido Guzman, 64, was killed in a single-vehicle collision early Sunday, June 24, on Mount St. Helena near the Lake County line.

The Napa area California Highway Patrol reported that at approximately 2:18 a.m. Sunday, Guzman was driving a 1994 Dodge Colt northbound on State Route 29, traveling at an unknown speed. Guzman approached and entered a gradual right curve in the roadway. For an unknown reason, he allowed his vehicle to travel across the southbound lane. The vehicle continued off the roadway and collided into an embankment. This collision caused the vehicle to overturn into the northbound and southbound lanes. The vehicle came to rest on its roof.

Guzman suffered fatal injuries as a result of the traffic collision and was pronounced dead at the scene. The collision was still under investigation as of Monday, June 25.
