Helen L. Smith was born on July 29, 1924 and passed away peacefully June 24, 2007 in Fair Oaks. She leaves behind daughters, Gail and Judy; son-in-law, Brian; three grandchildren, Karen, Rosemary and Lawrence; four great-grandchildren, James, Erin, Valentina and Natalie; and longtime companion Nic Bragg of Clearlake.
Helen was the last surviving child of Clarence and Sarah (Sally) Moore of Detroit, Mich. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto Earl Smith; siblings, Jack, Daisy and Dorothy and fianc? Clarence Hilla of Alpena, Mich.
Battling several illnesses throughout her later life, she always kept a positive attitude and enjoyed life to the fullest. She enjoyed traveling the most — keeping a packed suitcase handy at all times and she was proud of the fact that she had visited all 50 states during her lifetime. She was also a member of the Elks and American Legion Auxiliary for 32 years and La Societe de Femme.
The family is following Helen”s request that there be no services or memorials held. She will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends.
