Steve Delia Bosca passed away June 21, 2007 at Evergreen Lakeport Healthcare in Lakeport. Steve was born on Nov. 13,1917 to Peter and Assunte Delia Bosca in Fort Bragg.

Steve was a mailman in Fort Bragg before enlisting in the Army on Feb. 19,1941 at the age of 24 in Monterey. He was a Corporal in the 7th Quartermaster Company for which Edmund G. Lope wrote a book titled “The Hourglass,” a History of the 7th Infantry Division in World War II. Steve was wounded in action on Oct. 25, 1944 during his Tour of Duty in the Philippines. He was in the Battles and Campaigns of Ryukyus between 1940 and 1945, Eastern Mandates, Aleutian Islands and Southern Philippines between 1933 and 1945.

During his Tour of Duty, Steve received the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with two Bronze Stars. Steve was Honorably Discharged on Oct. 1, 1945 at Camp Beale in California. Once Steve became a civilian, he worked for Leslie Salt in Newark then in Hayward and retired after 30 years of employment in 1978.

Steve is survived by his wife of 33 1/2 years, Carmen Delia Bosca; four children, Zoann Abel (Dave) of Reno; Stephen Delia Bosca of Reno, Steve”s children from his marriage to Carmen; Leroy Romero (Frances) of Central Pt, Ore., and Pat Darcy (Richard) of Medford, Ore.; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 30 at Queen of The Rosary Catholic Church, 3892 Country Club Dr. in Lucerne.

Family and Friends are welcome to come join the Delia Bosca Family at their home after the service at 6341 12th Ave., Lucerne for refreshments.
