LAKEPORT — If you have a spare baseball mitt that is sitting around gathering dust in your garage, the Lake County Junior Giants want you. Actually, they just want your glove.
The Junior Giants” glove drive, which began in June, runs through next week”s All-Star Game at AT&T Park in San Francisco.
Junior Giants is a free summer baseball program serving Northern California and nearly half of the 13,000 kids who take part don”t own a glove. There are about 20 leagues throughout Northern California holding Glove Drives through their local Bank of Americas, all of whom will be accepting donations until at least Tuesday.
Lake County residents can drop off gloves at the Lakeport Bank of America branch at 500 N. Main Street.
