Recently, I turned on the TV evening news about two minutes after it had begun, and was immediately interested in a discussion about the immigration bill before Congress, as well as a military spokesman”s assessment of the day”s happenings in Iraq. I found it very distressing that he was interrupted in midsentence by a voice saying, “And now back to our top story: Paris Hilton who has been ordered back to jail is finally leaving the courtroom….”
The next day I was downright disgusted that your paper (Record-Bee, June 9) contained a full page column by Debra Saunders about the incident on page 4 where your “Letters to the Editor” are usually found. To give Paris Hilton this much press would have been more than enough, but oh, heck no, you had to repeat the entire story in detail all over again on page 11 of the same paper.
I would wager that most of your readers have had enough ad nauseam of this swaggering, spoiled, little rich brat and are wondering why you feel she”s important enough to warrant all that press.
