Robert Clifton”s journey through life ended July 6,2007. A long time resident of Lake County, Robert was currently residing in Lakeport. Although born July 9, 1931 in Milwaukee, Wis., Bob spent his childhood in New Orleans, La. His sense of patriotism drove him to join the Air Force during the Korean War where he earned the rank of Staff Sergeant. After completion of his military service, Robert moved to California where he met his lovely bride, Rena Kincade.

A man of many talents and a zest for life, Robert enjoyed snow skiing, scuba diving, snorkeling, white water rafting, hand gliding, tennis, riding motorcycles and playing with his grandchildren. After retiring from a career as a General Contractor, Robert pursued many of his loves including writing. Traveling the world over gathering research information, Robert penned numerous books Including — Mons Grapius, Kabatin Guy, and Pretani. His generosity and willing hand will be greatly missed by friends and family.

Robert is survived by his wife of 53 years, Rena Clifton; sister, Patti Swope (Jerry) of Florida; brothers, Jim Clifton (Irene) of Mississippi and Bill Clifton (Alice) of Tennessee; sons, Rod Clifton of Galveston, Texas, Russell Clifton (Ginger) of Phoenix, Ariz., and Michael Clifton (Marilyn) of Lakeport. Robert also leaves behind eight grandchildren, James Clifton, Chris Clifton, Alex Jacobsen, Jennifer Clifton, Devin Jacobsen, Spencer Clifton, Lauren Clifton and Reid Price; three great-grandchildren, Raina Clifton, Brock Jacobsen and Connor Gentry.

Family wishes donations be made to Hospice of Lake County. A private service will be held at a later date.
