UKIAH — John Dalerio won the Late Model main event and George Mavrakis took the checkered flag in the bonus bomber feature race on Saturday night as the King of the Hill Challenge Series continued at the Ukiah Speedway.
Also visiting the winner”s circle Saturday were Mike Doss in the North Coast Challenge Series Late Model main event, Zachery Kavert in the Legends Cars of the Pacific main event, and Drew Smith in the bandoleros feature race.
Late Model
Dalerio, the fast qualifier (13.016 seconds), finished ahead of Jeremy Donahoo, Forrest Kuecker, Charlie Collins and Sean Caturegli in the Late Model main event. Collins won the heat race and Donahoo topped the field in the trophy dash.
Bonus bombers
Mavrakis, fourth in the bonus bomber point standings, beat Jared Martin, Terry Pittman, Clay Caturegli and Bill Mucci to the finish line in the bonus bomber feature race.
Richard Page was the fast qualifier (14.939), Pittman won the trophy dash and the second heat race, and Mike Marcum won the first heat.
North Coast Late Models
Doss turned in the fastest qualifying time (12.624) before going on to win the North Coast Challenge Late Models main event. Junior Roddy came in second, Howard Ford was third, Jim Stillman Jr. was fourth and Eric Graham came in fifth.
Ford won the trophy dash.
Legends Cars
Kavert took the checkered flag in front of Derek Copeland, Steven Cantrell, David Winchel and Frankie Marks in the Legends Cars main event.
Randy Fellman set the fast time (14.367), McKenna Bell won the trophy dash and heat winners were Cantrell, Winchel and McKenna Bell.
Bandoleros
Drew Smith, second in the bandoleros point standings, beat Brenton Smith to the finish line in the main event. Points leader Kyle Tellstrom came in third, Darrin Silva was fourth and JayCee McLean was fifth.
Smith set the fast time (15.541) and Tellstrom won the trophy heat.
The King of the Hill Challenge Series continues this Saturday at the Lakeport Speedway, where the modifieds, mini-stocks, bonus bombers, bombers and the second of three boat races. On July 29, racing resumes at Ukiah Speedway with the Pro-4 modifieds, modifieds, bonus bombers, bombers and bandoleros.
