UKIAH — Ukiah resident Trevor Conley pleaded guilty Friday to second-degree murder in the death of Albion resident Kevin Henry, bringing an end to that murder trial.

Henry, who was born and raised in Upper Lake, was in Ukiah for medical appointments on Nov. 2, 2005 when he met up with Conley and Conley”s co-defendant, Nathan McWilliams.

The two later beat and stabbed Henry to death and dumped his body on Tomki Road in Redwood Valley, where it was found on Nov. 12, 2005.

Conley and McWilliams were charged with murder, kidnapping and robbery in Henry s death.

McWilliams pleaded guilty to charges of second-degree murder in July of 2006, with the agreement that he would testify for the prosecution in Conley”s trial.

Conley was scheduled to go on trial Aug. 3.

Second-degree murder charges carry a possible sentence of 15 years to life imprisonment. Both men are scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 31.

Henry”s family resides in Upper Lake and includes his mother and father, Dorothy and Sam Henry, two brothers, Bill and Larry Henry, and sister Rachelle Henry.

“Kevin”s death and the violent manner in which it occurred has subjected our family to a level of grief, heartache and pain that we will never completely recover from and no sentence, no punishment can ever fully absolve these feelings, said Larry Henry. “Our comfort is that the perpetrators have been caught, admitted their guilt and that our family has been spared the ordeal of a trial. We can now move on with our lives, still with heavy hearts, but knowing that Kevin is now at peace.”
