Emile”s grandparents immigrated to the United States from France. His grandfather was a chef who worked in San Francisco. Emile was raised in the Dry Creek area of Healdsberg, where his father had a ranch.
Emile settled in Scotts Valley of Lake County where he had a walnut orchard and nursery. He was married to Nelda Riggs, a school teacher. After Nelda passed away, Emile married Ellen Riggle, who had lost her first husband. They were retired at this time and lived in Kelseyville.
Emile loved to travel. They made many trips all over the world. He liked to travel on ships because he did not have to pack and unpack his suitcase all the time.
Emile was a member of the Clearlake Odd Fellows Lodge #130. He was an Odd Fellow for over 70 years.
Emile was preceded in death be by his brother, Clayton.
He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 24 at Hartley Cemetery in Lakeport.
