Annette E. Monroe passed away on July 15, 2007 in Palo Alto. She was born Annette Elizabeth Berry, in Stockton on May 22, 1932 and resided in Lucerne. She was the wife of Junior Monroe, deceased in 1997 and daughter of Helen and George Berry of Clearlake, who are both deceased. Having lived in Contra Costa and Alameda County for many years, her family moved to Lucerne in 1987. Annette graduated from Antioch High School and at the age of 75 was still working part time in Lakeport at the County of Lake Offices.
Services were held on Friday, July 20, at 2 p.m. at Jones & Lewis Clear Lake Memorial Chapel in Lower Lake, a reception followed at The Brick Hall in Lower Lake. Many thanks to all of the community who donated their time, energy and food to the celebration of life for Annette.
She is survived by her daughters, Margaret (Peggie) Schuitemaker of Brentwood and husband Don, Barbara Vandersteen of The Woodlands, Texas, and Neta Van Zant of Eureka, Kansas, Robert Ford of Columbus, Georgia, Tami Molina of Manteca, Jason Schuitemaker of Brentwood, Chris Monroe of Lucerne; sisters Martha Faletti, and husband Bob and families of Clearlake, Georgia Yarger of Washington, deceased and husband, Glenn, St. Augustine of Florida and families.
Annette was an active member of the Church of Christ in Lucerne. Her passion in life was her family, friends and taking care of all those who came into her life. She loved reading, traveling, jet-skiing and riding her motorcycle.
Many thanks to Sutter Lakeside Hospital in Lakeport and the entire I.C.U. staff at Stanford University Hospital in Palo Alto. A special thanks to Rev. Jesse Brown who remained with Annette and her immediate family as she died peacefully from complications due to a stroke.
