There have been many comments, news specials, and actions in relation to racism. It is insane to say that the residents of Lake County are racists. Attorney Stuart Hanlon comments that because Lake County only has a two percent African American population Hughes isn”t able to get a fair trial. His comments suggest that the remaining ninety-eight percent of Lake County residents are racists.
A comment made to the Record Bee during their survey in front of Wal-Mart suggesting that if a black man were to have done the same thing to white men he would be in jail. That is insane! I was listening to ESPN radio while the radio personality was discussing the Michael Vick indictment.
He read emails that had been sent to him from various listeners. One of them said, ” It is sad that something like this could happen to a fine young black athlete.” That was all right for him to read on the air. If something were to happen to a white athlete and I were to say that is a shame to happen to such a fine young white athlete the NAACP would be all over the radio station for reading it. I seriously doubt that the radio station would read that comment on the air.
I am just sick of hearing that white people are all racist. I am not saying that there aren”t racist people out there. I am saying that people of every race need to set race aside and treat people as people humans not colors. I think that people need to stop pulling the race card every time they get in trouble. Man up to your mistakes and pay for them. If you don” t think the judicial system is fair, stay out of it!
